In late 2003, Lisa Tyler realised a long-held ambition and imported a b/w dog from America, AB-SS Money to Burn at Shernazar. Bryn was mated to Bushwacker Sioux City Sue, who produced three dogs and one bitch (all r/w) the following January. Born during an episode of "Auf Wiedersehen, Pet", Oz was named after the character played by Jimmy Nail.

Reckless and accident prone, Oz had a late start to his show career  due to an unfortunate high-speed crash with kitchen units at the age of 4 months. The resulting spinal injury took five months to mend, causing him to miss almost the entire show season of 2004.

With no training, and only one week's "practice" in Ireland on the Munster Circuit in August (where in spite of his antics he took a third in the puppy stakes at Clonmel, and a fourth at Tralee from entries of around 100) he went on to qualify for Crufts at his first attempt at Richmond in September.  Having finally hit the ring in England, Oz had a flying start, winning the reserve CC, RBIS and BPIS at the BOBA championship show under American breed specialist Jeraldeen Crandall, on only his second appearance in the ring.

Hot on the heels of this success, he went on to take RBD and BPIS at the Northern Basenji Society, following this up with BD & BOS at the Basenji Club of Great Britain and BOB/BP at the Hound Club of East Anglia.

Being one of life's great adventurers, Oz has had too many escapades to mention.  Hopefully he will remain in one piece during 2005.
